HOW TO REALLY LIVE

It doesn't hurt to be reminded of these simplicities.

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement: "My purpose is to __________ today."

4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

7. Don't waste your precious energy on energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

12. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

14. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'

17. Forgive everyone for everything.

18. What other people think of you is none of your business.

19. God/dess heals everything.

20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

Today, while walking home from school,
I encountered a confused old woman on the sidewalk,
clutching what appeared to be medical paperwork.
In the area I live, finding anyone wandering the street is unusual.
She asked me if knew where Facey was.
I explained to her that it was down the street,
but I could tell she wasn't able to follow my directions,
and in light of the fact she was walking in the wrong direction, I offered to walk her there.
She asked if I would hold her hand,
which I did as we walked down the hill toward the Facey medical building.
As we continued down the street, her breathing became heavier as she struggled in the heat.
Just as we reached the Facey parking lot, she told me she needed to slow down,
then suddenly sat on the ground and laid down.
I made sure her breathing was ok and offered her my bottled water while she rested.
Once she recovered a bit, I helped her to her feet, and walked her the final bit into the Facey urgent care.
I found a nurse and explained the situation to her.
While a wheelchair was being brought, I asked the old woman what her name was.
She said "Madeline Woodman"
I replied "My name is Angie, nice to meet you"
She smiled at me and I felt uplifted in a way that I found unfamiliar.
I felt truly good.
There is no other word for it.
The funny thing is I left class early today.
If I hadn't, I wouldn't have been there to help her.
I looked at her paperwork at one point.

She's 75.

I started in Aug 06 and then it was completed March 07.
-back tat, traditional colored dragon with purple wings (drawn by me).

9-ish hours for my first tat..my epic dragon one of course..

Mebbe, if I decide to go the 'corporate' route anytime soon..(she-yeah right!)

Right arm, most definitely..either a giant squid or a jellyfish..
and the one I 'don't' pick will go on my chest, most likely.
(They will be black and grey, to match my awesome octopus btw!.) :)

Hot? yes. Cold? no. Lukewarm? haha! made you look..lol!

Unfortunate? No. But I did wait 10 years to get my epic dragon one...
i did wait to find the right tattoo artist, and be in the right mind set for it too! ;)

A CALL TO ARMS

I am normally very supportive of others utilizing their creativity to follow their passions in life.

I have been delighted to see many thousands of budding artists and creative minds utilize my image as a springboard for imaginative endeavors.

However, a situation has now arisen that appears to surpasses mere creative inspiration.

Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog is a musical "comedy" about a thirty-something, singing mad scientist who's goal it is to take over the world. Complete with vintage propaganda, an "Ask Dr. Horrible" segment and of course…goggles.

With a mainstream powerhouse recycling such personal themes, I must confess that I see potential trouble in the future.

Many members of the Army of Toy Soldiers have been organizing missions to inform the masses. Such support is truly appreciated and I wish to convey my appreciation to all of you who have shown such support for many, many years in what I work so very hard to achieve.

featuring members of the goth/industrial/body-mod subculture(s)
and have been showing my work monthly at Club Hell in Hollywood.

body-mods, or unique looks; who are willing to pose nude for photo-studies
that will be used as the basis for my new paintings in this style.

Divers, sharks, and komodo dragons..oh my!

Stranded scuba divers chase off Komodo dragon

Elena Neralairen threw rocks at an aggressive Komodo dragon and scavenged for mussels on a remote Indonesian island where she and fellow divers were stranded for days after being swept away in treacherous currents.

The group — three from Britain and one each from France and Sweden — drifted 20 miles in sharp-infested waters before landing after nightfall on Rinca's palm-fringed beach, their last chance to avoid being swept into the open ocean.

But the next morning, it became clear their ordeal was not yet over. They came face-to-face with a deadly Komodo dragon, which can weigh as much as 365 pounds, and scared the beast away by screaming and pelting it with rocks and sticks.

"It took my diving hood," a smiling Neralairen told The Associated Press on Monday, relieved to finally be heading home.

The Swedish tourist described how the five struggled to find food and water.

"We found some mussels, that's the only thing," she said, adding that there were no coconut or fruit trees on the tiny, near-deserted island.

The area where the diving trip took place, near the islands of Tatawa and Komodo, is famous for its rich marine diversity, including sharks, manta rays and sea turtles. But it is also known for its powerful and unpredictable seas.

Recommended only for experienced divers, it is in a place where the Indian and Pacific oceans meet, creating currents that converge and separate. Whirlpools and eddies can pull divers downwards.

Charlotte Allin, 24, told Britain's Daily Mail there were many times she thought she and her boyfriend, James Manning, 30, would not survive.

"But I quickly brushed those thoughts from my mind," said the British tourist, who later told her mother she was in a state of complete shock. "We had to keep our spirits up. I knew that if we lost hope of being found, that would be it."

After being caught in what felt like a rip tide, the five found a log and clung to it, roping each other together. They spent two nights on Rinca before rescuers aboard one of 30 boats searching the waters spotted them waving frantically on the shore.

The divers were taken to Flores island for medical treatment and — with the exception of Kathleen Mitchinson, the British dive instructor — left Monday for Bali island to catch connecting flights back home.

Komodo dragons, the world's largest lizards, can grow up to 10 feet long.

Attacks on humans are rare, but with its shark-like serrated teeth the Komodo's bite can be deadly. Their saliva is poisonous, with dozens of species of bacteria, so if a wound is not cleaned properly septicemia sets in within days.

There are believed to be 4,000 left in the world and they are only found in the wild on a handful of islands in eastern Indonesia.

Thousands of tourists visit the area each year to see the lizards in their natural habitat. They are normally shown around the arid and rocky island by guides who carry large, forked sticks to ward off the animals.
